Skill Building For Success in School and Life

Who is Pauline Saavedra at Pauli Coaching

Who am I?

I am an ADHD student coach with over 15 years of experience supporting young adults. Before founding Pauli Coaching, I spent 25 years working in higher education. I began my career in admissions, reviewing thousands of graduate and undergraduate applications for Columbia University. I later left Columbia to join Vassar College, where I had the opportunity to work closely with exceptional students.

Over time, I discovered that the most meaningful work I did was supporting students who were struggling—much like I had struggled myself in college. I often think about how much I would have benefited from having a coach like me during those years.

For the past six years at Pauli Coaching, I’ve worked with students as young as 12 and learned an important lesson: student coaching alone isn’t always enough. Parents need support, too.

As an ADHD parent raising two children with ADHD, I’ve come to deeply understand how challenging it can be. I also gained a new appreciation for how hard it must have been for my own parents to raise my brother and me. Raising children with ADHD is not easy, and the advice offered by well-meaning friends and family often doesn’t fit. I wish my parents had access to a parent coach when I was growing up, just as much as I wish I’d had one during my early years of parenting.

Today, I work as an ADHD parent coach and student coach, helping families and students find what works best for them. I teach parents what ADHD really is and how it affects their child’s learning, development, and daily life, while helping them build practical tools and strategies to navigate parenting with more confidence and calm.

I also work directly with college students to identify and strengthen executive function skills, empowering them with strategies that build confidence and support success well beyond the classroom.

Why Coaching?

I Get It—Because I’ve Been There

As a first-generation college graduate, I was told college wasn’t an option. My guidance counselor said I “didn’t take the right classes.” I didn’t have anyone to guide me through the process or explain what to expect. I struggled, worked hard, and eventually earned my degree—but only after being diagnosed with ADHD and Dyslexia. By then, my self-esteem had taken a hit, and I had spent years trying to “be better” and fit into what I thought adulthood required.

Becoming a parent gave me a whole new perspective. Raising children with ADHD showed me how much guidance and support can change a life—just like the encouragement I received from a few key people along the way.

That’s why I coach.

I help parents and students navigate the challenges of ADHD with practical tools, strategies, and confidence. Whether it’s managing school, organizing life, or supporting your child’s growth, I guide families to thrive rather than just survive.

I’ve been where you are. I did it. And you can too.
